Shocking: The Effects Of Negative Thoughts And Emotions On Your Body

Humans experience an array of emotions, anything from happiness, to sadness to extreme joy and depression. Each one of these emotions creates a different feeling within the body.

We’re often not aware of the effects that our thoughts can have on our bodies and health.

We sometimes get carried away by stress, tension, anxiety, depression, haste and other negative feelings without even considering that it can affect us emotionally and physically, lowering our quality of life.

The mind-body connection is much stronger than we think, as our thoughts and emotions stimulate the production of certain chemicals that influence our physical and emotional health.

All of the emotions cause a different environment in the body as the body release different chemicals varying from each emotion.

If the body releases Seratonin, Oxytocin or Dopamine you will feel happy. If it releases Cortisol, you will feel stressed out and possibly even  depressed.

You may wonder what happens to your body when you have negative thought all the time. Let’s explore how these affect our body and life.

Positive vs. Negative

Are things innately positive and negative or we are defining them as such? Well, it seems that we spend a lot of time thinking and judging what is considered positive and what is negative. The brain is a potent tool and while defining what something is, we start seeing the result. For instance, when someone driving gets cut off, he will either get angry or move on as if nothing happened. This depends on the way how a person looks on something and it applies to all things in life.

Cut The Perceptions As Much As Possible

It turns out that there aren’t positive or negative experiences and it is all about our perception and the way we define them. So, our perception has the power over the situation and the way that particular situation affects our body. Even though we can work to overcome the definitions of each experience and move on, sometimes we simply don’t have the time. Therefore, understanding how certain emotions affect our health is of utmost importance.
If someone wishes for good health, one must first ask oneself if he is ready to do away with the reasons for his illness. Only then is it possible to help him.” ~ Hippocrates

Mind Body Connection

There is a strong link between the mind and the body, even though we are not able to visually see this connection. We can either have positive mental attitude and thus create healthy lifestyle or have negative thoughts and creating an unhealthy lifestyle by failing to deal with the internal issues.
When you feel pain in certain areas, it is often linked to some emotional issue. Even though it seems strange at first glance, this is true in most cases. For instance, if you are feeling pain in the back, knees, neck or shoulders, it is very likely that dealing with your emotions will help you get a relief, contrary to the popular belief that exercise will work it out.
