Therefore, it is advisable to avoid these 12 bedtime habits, especially if you’re having a hard time taking your rest at night.

1. Avoid drinking water before you go to bed, because if you drink too much water you will have to wake up 2-3 times to go to bathroom in the middle of the night.

2. Avoid the routine for sleeping at any time of the day. Make sure you make a good sleeping routine and try to go to sleep at the same time (each day), so your brain will be ready to “shut down” and help you fall asleep much faster.

3. Avoid eating any food less than 2 hours before going to bed, because the digestion process will keep your body awake.

4. Don’t use your laptop or smartphone at least an hour before sleeping, because the brightness from the laptop and smartphone will alert your brain and you won’t be able to fall asleep immediately.

5. Avoid using bright alarm clocks. It will fortify your brain and will make sleeping difficult for you. It is better to choose an alarm clock having dimmer numbers.

6. Utilize good bedding's because your rest will be more comfortable and will keep you sound and fresh.

7. In case you have a habit to read a book before sleeping, then we highly recommend avoiding it. You may read the book a little earlier or before you go to bed.

8. Try to sleep on your side rather than on your stomach or back.

9. Try to use heating pad or socks to make your feet warm, because if your feet are cold, they will most likely make it difficult for you to rest.

10. You need to prepare your brain for sleeping by making a schedule, go to bathroom, brush your teeth and wash your face every night before going to sleep.

11. Avoid drinking coffee at least 4 hours before going to sleep. It is because caffeine boosts the metabolism and you will feel refreshed.

12. Workout at least 3 hours before sleep time, for exercise makes you feel fresh and lively.
