How Dangerous A Smartphone Light Affects Your Over-All Health

Smartphone has changed the way we live the most. We can connect with friends halfway around the world while on the go ,stream high-definition TV, and order just about anything from anywhere with a couple of taps.

But in the drive for better, faster technology and ever more instant ways to communicate, our health may be languishing.

You might not have been aware of it, but your smartphone emits a blue light that helps you read things on it even during the day.

The light cannot be adjusted or turned off and it continually emits through the screens of every electronic device you own.

At night, your brain gets confused by that light, as it mimics the brightness of the sun. This causes the brain to stop producing melatonin, a hormone that gives your body the "time to sleep" cues.

Because of this, smartphone light can disrupt your sleep cycle, making it harder to fall and stay asleep - and potentially causing serious health problems along the way.

What can you do?

Limiting your or your child’s amount on screens is vital, and you should turn off all electronic devices at least 2 hours before going to bed. If you need to do something before sleeping, try to read a book and relax.

You can also download an app called f.lux which adjusts the color of your screen to the time of day and turns off the constantly emitting blue light. The app can be used on computers, phones and tablets as well.
