The Only Home Made Toothpaste That Could Whiten Your Yellow Teeth

One of the worst nightmares we don't want to happen to any of us is to have yellow or stained teeth which can often be embarrassing.

Stained teeth can be caused by many things such as unhealthy oral hygiene, indulging in excessive tea, coffee or tobacco chewing, acidic drinks, smoking, certain medication and illness.

Why do teeth get yellow?

Our teeth are coated with a shiny protective shield known as enamel. Below this is a yellow layer known as dentin. Excessive intake of certain foods strips the enamel layer revealing the yellow dentin below.

Baking Soda and Lemon Juice For Teeth Whitening

Baking Soda is the one and only remedy for stained teeth. It gently scrubs away surface stains to return teeth to a whiter shade.

It’s also very alkaline, so I would think if you have a very acidic mouth or eat a lot of acidic food, it could help balance out the Ph, which would be useful as acid breaks down enamel-this is strictly speculation on my part.

Lemon juice, on the other hand, acts as a natural bleach of sorts.

You will need:

- Several teaspoons of baking soda
- Enough lemon juice to form a paste
- A toothbrush or cotton swab

Directions:

1. Mix several teaspoons of baking soda with enough fresh lemon juice to make a paste.

2. Wipe your teeth and any extra saliva off of them with a paper towel.

3. Put a good amount of paste onto your toothbrush/cotton swab and apply.

4. Leave the paste on for 1 minute, then rinse, so as to avoid the acid effecting enamel.

This remedy focuses not only on whitening teeth that have already lost some white enamel, but it’s also good to keep in mind that doing things to strengthen enamel is just as important so you can keep it from breaking down further.
