Seven Cheap And Easy DIY Ways To Dye Your Hair At Home

We all know that hair dyes are loaded with crazy chemicals and usage could lead to cancer. However, that didn't stop some women to have change their hair color almost very often.

Luckily, there are a few tricks you can use to naturally lighten hair without chemicals. All the methods below are food-based, totally natural, and actually healthy for your hair.

These methods are the easiest ways to lighten your hair, and you probably already have all the ingredients in your pantry. The result will be subtle, natural highlights and slightly lighter hair.

1. Lemons

Lemon juice, diluted half and half with distilled water, will lighten dark blond or light brown hair and won’t leave reddish tones unless your hair already has them.

2. Baking Soda

This pantry staple is used as a cleanser  method, but it can also naturally lighten hair. Combine baking soda with a little water to make a paste and massage it into your scalp and all over your hair.

3. Honey

Using honey on your hair could give you lighter locks. You can combine honey with water, apply it to hair, twist it into a bun, and let it soak for an hour or so. Your hair will be shinier and lighter.

4. Chamomile Tea

This herbal tea is good for you and can lighten hair. Brew some strong chamomile tea (about 5 bags to a few cups of boiling water), and let it cool completely. You can add it to a spray bottle and spritz on your hair when you're going to be outside, or add it to your conditioner for a more subtle look.

5. Cinnamon

Cinnamon has antioxidants and natural sunscreen that will protect your hair from the damaging rays of the sun. Take a half a cup of your normal conditioner and add enough cinnamon powder to make a thick paste. Apply this to your hair and leave on 3-4 hours or overnight. The longer you leave it, the richer the color. In the morning (or at the end of the 3-4 hours), wash it out well and style as you normally would.

6. Beer

Beer can both lighten your hair and repair your damage strands. You'll need a light beer for this treatment. Simply rinse your hair with the beer and wait for the amazing result.

7. Salt

We all know how salt will highlight our hair after swimming in the ocean. Simply dissolve 1 tablespoon salt (any kind) with ½ cup of warm water. Leave on 15 minutes and rinse out.
