The truth behind the apples injected with HIV blood sold in Quiapo and Recto Rounds Online

What's the worst possible thing that might happen when you eat your favorite fruit?
Choking, maybe. What about getting infected with HIV?

Yes! You read it right. Fruits injected with allegedly HIV-infected blood is out in the market. Lucky for us, one concerned citizen warned people on buying these fruits, specifically, apples.

A facebook user named Vienly Jane Cuaresma Noche shared her horrifying experience in buying apples on the streets of Quiapo and Recto and her post is now circulating online.

According to her post, she and her boyfriend bought some apples and upon inspection, one fruit appeared to have a bruise caused by a pointed instrument. They decided to cut the apple in half, only to find out, a deep red discoloration on its flesh which was allegedly blood infected with HIV.

Even before this, lots of stories similar to her had happened in other countries. However, the information is misleading.

HIV or Human Immunodeficiency Virus would immediately dies upon direct exposure to air. It can't be transmitted through any kinds of food and can only be passed through sexual contact, human fluids, blood and even breast milk.

So, given these facts, it is not possible to acquire HIV by eating an injected food. But let's say, it's not an HIV infected blood. What if it happens to be a person's blood with highly contagious disease? It's still important to have an awareness about this alarming matter.
Please share and be safe everyone.
